A Thinking Toolbox

This session had plenty of ideas of how to introudce and use various thinking tools within your class.

The facilitator, Lyn Ross, had plenty of experience facilitating clusters and share many real classroom ideas and photos.  She shared the idea of having a “toolbox” in the class that contained the tools for thinking, ie a set of thinkers keys on a key ring, De Bono’s thinking hats etc.

From this session I will developing my own toolbox to use within the class, and re-inventing some ideas I used to use for reading, homework and fast finisher activities.

  1. I love the tool box idea, I have seen it working in Numeracy where the different strategies are seen as the “tools” and a student in theory will have their Numeracy “toolbox” to work from when looking at problems.
